Panchkarma that means five therapies is the ayurveda procedure to cleanse the toxic present in our body due to diseases and poor nutrition. By cleansing and purifying the toxins from the body, Panchkarma helps you to re-achieve balance of the three energies or doshas and longevity. The removal of toxins from the body by Panchkarma makes a person rejuvenated and happy as it removes negative feelings and restores equilibrium of the three energies.

Ayurveda is an old Indian system of medication. Human body is made up of doshas (functional elements), dhatus (structural elements) and malas (waste products). There are three doshas in our body, that is vata, pitta and kaph. Panchkarma is the set of five procedures:

Vamana (emesis)
It is medicated induction of vomiting. As it is done to remove kapha toxins from the body and respiratory system. It is very effective and beneficial for bronchial asthma, hay fever, psoriasis, chronic allergies and skin disorders.

Virechana (puragation)
This medicated puragation therapy is done to remove pitta toxins from the body that is collected in the gallbladder and liver . Virechana is a safe therapy which completely gives rid from gastrointestinal diseases. This therapy removes diseases like digestive disorders, hyper-acidity, Headaches, herpes, elephantiasis and gynecological disorders.

Basti (Enema or colonic Irrigation)

It is considered as the best panchkarma,a treatment as it cleans the three accumulated toxins, that is, Vata, Pitta and Kapha via colon. This therapy is beneficial for paraplegia, Backache, cervical, hemiplegia, obesity, etc.

Nasya (Nose cleansing)
This therapy is done with medicated oil which is administered through nose that aims to clean the kapha toxins from the head and neck region. This therapy is beneficial for insomnia, improves eye-sight, pre-mature greying of hairs, hyper-pigmentation and provides voice clarity, relive from migraine and nasal allergies.

Rakta Mokshna (blood letting)

This therapy is done to clean the blood and is rarely done during general panchkarma therapy.

Panchkarma is useful to clean the body and is helpful to cure diseases. It is also beneficial for maintaining and improving physical and mental health of a person.
